New Year´s Resolution: Get Healthy!

Yesterday a new year rose upon us and the New Years resolutions were made. Just like every year most people have listed 3 common things to do or do stop doing for the new year. One important resolution for many people and also for me is to get healthier, you know when you feel healthier you look healthier. And I might lose some weight in the process as well (win!). However these new year resolutions only last for a month or so, I'm planning to hold on to it.

But if you want to do something new you need to get used to it.
Especially if you want to be healthier, your body and muscles need to get used to all those exercises and healthy and nutritious food. After a while it becomes a habit!
I listed the basic things you could do to be healthier and get fitter. Isn't that what we all want?

Happy New Year!!

First of all I want wish all my readers a happy new year! This year has passed by so fast. And in that year lots of things happened, also in the fashion/modelling world, new models were rising up, designers were signing off etc.

Let's start talking about new years resolutions. Everybody has them and I think it's great, because you decide in a way to better yourself. I personally think people should forget the whole ''New year, new you'' thing and focus on the ''New year, better you''. Because most people can't keep up to their goals and nothing changes, but hey, it's the thought that counts right? I'd say it's better to improve yourself a bit rather than changing who you are.
My new years resolutions for 2014 are basically like the ones I had previous years; work-out more, eat healthier, get healthier, get more sleep and blog more. I've already started on some of these resolutions just to be sure I don't give up on them.

This year has been a great one, but let's make 2014 even better. I can't wait to see what 2014 has got in store for me (and my blog). What do you like to see in 2014 on my blog? And what are your new years resolutions?

Obviously by reading my blog you get to read about different models, celebs and people associated in their worlds.
But I always want my readers to get to know new models on the rise or who are still rising.

Jourdan Dunn is a remarkable young lady who has achieved so much in her 6 years of modeling.
But also having to deal with big problems in the modeling world such as diversity problems.
She was the first black model to walk for Prada in over a decade, before that, Naomi Campbell had the ''honors''.
Jourdan attracted lots of attention, for walking the show and due to the lack of black models in the modelling industry.

Models I Adore: Shanina Shaik

Shanina Shaik is a gorgeous mixed Aussie beauty, she was born to a mother of Lithuanian descent who also has Aussie genes and a father of Pakistani, Indian and Saudi Arabian descent.
The exotic beauty has drawn my attention since I've seen the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011.
''Who is this gorgeous Adriana Lima look-a-like'' was what I was thinking the whole time.
But just a few months ago, when I watched the show again, I spotted Shanina again at the VSFS 2012 and just had to know more about her.
I became a fan of the 5 ft 8 tall model after doing some research and now she's such an inspiration!
My favorite features of Shanina are her eyes, cheekbones, hair and skin and she also has an amazing body!

My favorite Exotic Models

When they hear the word 'Models', people mostly think about long, mostly Caucasian, skinny girls.
So I decided to do a blogpost about the beautiful women of color.
'Colored models' are still being discriminated in the fashion and modeling industry.
And I think they should cast more colored models.
British supermodel Jourdan Dunn attracted allot of attention when she became the first black model in a decade who walked for Prada!
Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and Iman are some exotic models who made big names in the Fashion industry.
I think people can name more Caucasian models than colored.

Shanina Shaik caught my eye while I was watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion 2011.
She is such a beauty, and her face has amazing features!
Shanina Shaik is an Australian model with Lithuanian and Pakistani blood.
The beauty has now walked shows for Jason Wu, Stella McCartney, Victoria's Secret and more!
Shanina is now one of my favorite models, she has the looks, obviously, and the personalty!
My favorite things about her appearance are her cheekbones, her stunning eyes and skincolor.



Adriana Lima
Is one of Brazilian most famous, succesfull and gorgeous model!
The Victoria's Secret Angel is a big inspiration for me.
She is a very wise person and I love her quotes.

Joan Smalls is an Puerto Rican model.
Joan has had quite a big career for now, but it's not far from over!
She has walked shows for Alexander Wang, Balmain, Givenchy, Versace, Victoria's Secret, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana and many many others!
Besides her modeling carreer Joan also hosts a show alongside co-model Karlie Kloss called MTV's House Of Style.

Holland doesn't only export their famed flowers, tulips, but we also have alot of famous names who are doing it very well international.
So I listed 3 famous dutch names in the modeling industry.
You might know most of them but you also might not know that they're dutch!
Us Dutchies could be quite proud of our fellow dutchies in the modeling world.

Doutzen Kroes
Doutzen Kroes is a Dutch supermodel who is very known for her work as a Victoria's Secret Angel.
She is my idol, I adore and admire this blonde beauty!
She is the only model in the world that signed 4 exclusive contracts worth millions!
Doutzen doesn't only model, she's also one of the ambassadors of Dance4Life.
Dance4Life is an innovative, international initiative designed to inspire, mobilise and unite young people to push back the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Dance4life aims to have created one million active participating youth by 2014 as a last urgent call to the world leaders to keep their promises around the Millennium Development Goals. 
Doutzen became an official Victoria's Secret Angel in 2008.
Edward Raze who has been selecting the models for VS for the past decade said: '' I wish we had snapped her up a long time ago.''
Doutzen was featured in campaigns of Victoria's Secret, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, Valentino, Blumarine and Calvin Klein.

Lara Stone

Lara Stone is a dutch supermodel who is known for her work as the face of Calvin Klein.

Lara was born in the Dutch town called Mierlo.

She was discovered in the Paris Metro while she was on vacation when she was 14 years old.

After that she took part in the Elite Model Look competition in 1999, even though she didn't she still impressed Elite executives and was signed to Elite Modeling Agency and then her modelling career started.

In 2006 she signed to IMG Models and in January that year she had her runway debut.

Ricardo Tisci let her walk for Givenchy and later that year she became an exclusive for Calvin Klein.

Lara stone made fashion history in 2010 when she signed an very exclusive deal with Calvin Klein Inc.

She became the face of Calvin Klein Collection, CK Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans.

It was the first the first time in years that they've chosen one model for three of its brands.

She was also an exclusive for CKI for all the apparel advertising and runway appearances for fall 2010.

In 2010 Lara Stone won the British Fashion Award for Model of the Year.

To this day, Lara Stone has walked shows for Isabel Marant, Giles Deacon, MaxMara, Christopher Kane Fendi, Chanel, Diesel, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Balmain and Prada.

Bregje Heinen is a dutch topmodel who was scouted on a dutch socialmedia site called 'Hyves'.
Bregje is also known for her work with Victoria's Secret. Alongside Dutch Angel Doutzen Kroes.
She also walked the glittered runway during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 and 2012 and appeared on the commercial for VS's new underwear collection, Body by Victoria with Lais Ribeiro and Candice Swanepoel.
Dutchie Bregje has walked shows for Donna Karen, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Just Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi and Balenciaga.
And she was also featured in the musicvideo Payphone by Maroon 5.
She played the sexy businesswoman.
I think that Bregje has this amazing face because of the special features in her face.
Beautiful full pillow lips and amazing blue eyes which you look at for eternity!

Today its the 21st of December 2012.
Also known as ''The day the world will come to it's end''.
Do you believe that?
I don't, not because I'm a Muslim but also because you could never predict when the world will end.
We are not creators of the world, we are created.
Just because an ancient tribe (Maya's) made a calendar which ended the 21st of December this year doesn't mean the world will end.
But I think that the movie ''2012'' mainly had people going crazy..
I hope the ones who believed it will feel stupid tomorrow.

Brad Pitt made a debut as the first male face of the iconic female Chanel No. 5 Fragrance.
Titled ''There you are'' the black-and-white ad features the 48-year-old actor reflecting upon life, love and presumably smelling like an A-list movie star.

''It's not a journey, every journey ends and we go on,'' he says. ''Wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No. 5. Inevitable.''

People I admire : Doutzen Kroes

If you're one of my loyal readers, or just red my whole blog, you'd notice that I often post some personal stuff. 

Like a list of personal questions about me with my anwsers, and also an about of those answers (and questions) because allot has changed!

But now I came with a new topic: People I admire:
Every week (mostly saturdays) I will post a new post with a person I admire.
Maybe it's actor/model or a singer, who knows..

For starters I'm beginning with the one and only Doutzen Kroes who I admire.

There is always a person you admire, wether it's your own mom or a big celebrity, perhaps even your school teacher!

The gorgeous Doutzen Kroes is one of Holland's biggest proud, the biggest in modeling.

She is very down to earth and very caring.

The most people would know this blue-eyed blonde as a Victoria Secret Angel, also, this year (just a few more months) she'll be strolling down the runway with her Co-Angels.

I really admire her and her job and that's not only modeling.

Doutzen is one of ambassadors of Dance4Life, that's an innovative, international initiative designed to inspire, mobilise and unite young people to push back the spread of HIV/AIDS. Dance4life aims to have created one million active participating youth by 2014 as a last urgent call to the world leaders to keep their promises around the Millennium Development Goals. 

We have supermodels and we have famous angels, well Doutzen got her famed wings in 2008 when she became part of the elite group of supermodels when she officially became a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2008. Edward Raze, whom has been selecting the models for Victoria's Secret for past decade said , " I wish we had snapped her up a long time ago."

Doutzen Kroes became the beautiful and strong mother that she is now by being herself and reaching for the stars! That's a life lesson!

She is a classy beauty who became a model by herself and one day I hope I'll meet her!

On number 3: Chanel No. 5 Parfum

The French actress audrey tatou is the new face of the iconic fragrance Chanel No. 5.

Created by Coco Chanel in 1921, No. 5 has remained the number one selling scent around the world.

Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who worked with her in Amelie, the film portray a brief sensual encounter between a man on a women who brush past each other on a night train

Filmed in a railway station in Nice and on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, it was inspired by a scene in the Oscar-nominated film A Very Long Engagement.

Tatou, who plays the title role of Coco Chanel in Anne Fontaine's new film Coco avant Chanel, said of her appointment to the luxury fashion house: "It hasn't really sunk in yet. The fact that the film has been directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the fact that it is Chanel No.5, which for me is a legend in itself. Even now, I find it hard to believe."
When I saw the commercial I immediately wanted to buy the fragrance!

I really love this commercial! Starring with the actress/model Charlize Theron. I love how the three legends, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and Marlene Dietrich all glance in this commercial!
The commercial was directed by Seven Years in Tibet's Jean-Jacques Annaud.
Charlize Theron rose to fame in the late 1990s following her roles in 2 Days in the Valley, Mighty Joe Young, The Devil's Advocate and The Cider House Rules. She received critical acclaim and an Academy Award for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, for which she became the first South African to win an Academy Award in a major acting category. She received another Academy Award nomination for her performance in North Country. After appearing in a few notable films, Theron starred as the serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster. This is the one of the best commercial I ever saw!

It all fits perfectly together, the models, the music, the video itself.

And especially the music is what I love about this commercial.

This is one of the commercial that I keep staring at, like I don't even move because I'm focusing on the gorgeous models! The commercial is about a new generation of young, trend-conscious men who embrace a fashion icon: The polo player by Ralph Lauren.
The Big Pony Collection rounds out this look with 4 different scents, the passions of young men pay tribute.
The 4 fragrances are: Sport, Seduction, Adventure and style.
The generation of today is defined by many different facets - a variety that only acollection of unique fragrances, as it is the Big Pony Collection can meet.
