Spring and Summer 2014 Nail Polish Trends!

Spring is here and summer is just right around the corner, which means that new nail polish trends are here to greet us! Spring and summer are the perfect times to start pulling out those brighter nail polish colors and to explore and have fun with new colors! There are many nail polish trends this spring and summer that are probably not much of a surprise. Chances are you may have similar colors already in your collection! This post will include some of the latest and most wearable nail polish color trends that I have been loving! Read on to see some of my favorite spring and summer 2014 nail polish trends!

Bright nail polish is always a staple during the spring and summer! Every year, however, there are a few bright colors that seem to take charge and this year the colors are coral and orange! Turquoise and aqua blues also seem to be "in" during the upcoming warmer months!
Butter London Nail Polish in "Silly Billy", $15.
OPI Nail Lacquer in "Toucan Do It If You Try", $9.
Essie Nail Polish in "Cab-ana", $8.50.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in "Coral Reef", $3

Pastels are also another color trend that seems to be popular every spring and summer! This is probably my favorite of all the trends because pastels are so versatile and delicate while being a great way to add a little pop of color to your spring and summer style!
Essie Nail Polish in "Fiji", $8.50.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Color in "Spring Buds", $18.
Essie Nail Polish in "Borrowed and Blue", $8.50.
Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure in "I Lilac You", $8

Going off of the pastel trend, mint is subtle yet classic color that suits all skin tones. It's been "in" for the past few years and I'm excited that it's not dying out just yet! More brands are also releasing mint shades in their collections, so you are bound to find a mint nail polish that suits you!
Essie Nail Polish in "Mint Candy Apple", $8.50.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Color in "Flowers in My Hair", $18
NCLA Nail Polish in "Santa Monica Shore Thing", $16
Ciate Creme Paint Pots in "Pepperminty", $16

Usually I wouldn't associate metallic with spring, but shades like rose gold or bronze having been appearing in many upcoming collections. It's a nice twist from the usual brighter nail polish colors and looks gorgeous against the sunlight!
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in "Guilty Party", $8
MAC Nail Lacquer in "Soiree", $16
Deborah Lippmann Nail Color in "Glamorous Life", $18
Essie Nail Polish "Penny Talk", $8.50.

I hope you found this post helpful!

High End Sandal Wedges for Less! (Feat. Target)

Summer is just around the corner and one fashion piece that has been catching my eye is wedges. Being below the average height for a girl, I think that wedges are a great way to had height while also have that sweet girl-next-door look. Wedges, however, can run pretty pricey, especially during the peak of spring and summer clothing shopping! If you want a really well-made shoe, maybe opt for splurging extra on a nicer pair of wedges. However, if you want something trendy for just the spring and summer, try looking for some more affordable options! Read on to see some of the wedges that I found at Target that are close dupes to ones found at department stores!

The Target wedge sandals and the DV by Dolce Vita 'Jaslyn' Wedges are two-toned wedges look nearly identical with the cork wedge, detailed border, and are about the same height! The only differences are that the Target brand doesn't have have the detailed border at the bottom of the heel, the white leather straps are a little different, and the tan leather straps are slightly different in color. These, however, are minor differences, and for the price difference, the Target wedges are definitely a steal!

The Target cork wedges and the Lucky Brand 'Miller 2' Wedges are both very similar and if you don't look super closely, they look almost identical! Both wedges have thick a cork wedge and criss-cross canvas straps. They also have similar stud detailing. The two only differences are that the Lucky Brand's front strap wraps around the the side of the wedge and its straps are a little more matte. However, for an almost $55 price difference, those are two very minor differences.

These Target wedges and the DV and Dolce by Vita 'Tabby' Wedges both feature a high cork wedge, gold detailing, and nudge straps. The major differences between these wedges is that the DV by Dolce Vita wedges have two gold metal embellishments on the vertical strap, while the Target wedges have only one gold embellishment. The DV by Dolce Vita's straps also wrap around the ankle one more time than the Target wedges. The Target wedges, however, are still an excellent dupe for the more pricey DV by Dolce Vita wedges!

These two wedges probably have the most differences than the other pairs shown above. The Target wedges and the Steve Madden 'Indyanna' Wedges, however, do have many similarities. Both wedges have a solid neutral wedge and many black straps. They also both strap around the ankle! Although the Steve Madden wedges have gold detailing and its straps are less concentrated, the Target wedges are a good dupe if you want to save $50!

My Beauty Wishlist #3 | Face Products

  • Clinique Cheek Pop in "Ginger Pop": This blush is part of one of the newest product lines recently released by Clinique. I heard that these blushes are super creamy and very pigmented, making them easy to use. Plus the shades in the line are for spring and summer!
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer: Benefit Hoola Bronzer is supposed to be one of the best bronzers for contouring, being neither too orange or too muddy. I have been on the hunt to find that perfect bronzer, so this is definitely on my wishlist!
  • Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer: I tried this foundation when I was getting my makeup done at the Bobbi Brown counter for prom and since then it has been on the top of my wishlist! I loved how this foundation felt and the natural finish it left on my face!
  • Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Cream Bronzer in "Rich Bronze": I don't own a cream bronzer, and I heard that this one is not only good for contouring, but is also more on the affordable side. This bronzer seems like it would be perfect for contouring, since cream products tend to look more natural than powder products.
  • Dior Shimmer Powder in "Amber Diamond": I have heard so much about this product and that it is the perfect highlighting powder for both the face and as eyeshadow. Unfortunately, however, I have heard that this may be discontinued, which would be a bummer considering the popularity of this product.

All of these products are perfect for the spring and summer, whether it's to bronze up or brighten your makeup look!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

I Got to Meet SprinkleofGlitter!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be in the same city as Louis or also known on Youtube as SprinkleofGlitter! Louis happened to be in Seattle this past weekend and I happen to go to college in Seattle, so I got really lucky! She held a casual meetup at a park near downtown Seattle and there wasn't too many people there (around 30-50... I'm bad at estimating), so it wasn't busy or crowded (like the Macbarbie07 meetup)! It was also a beautiful sunny day, so she luckily missed the Seattle rain!

I wasn't planning on going, but the main reason why I went was because my sister loves Louis's Youtube channel, so I wanted Louis to sign a paper with her photo on it that I brought. But I'm so glad I went! Louis was so funny and nice just like in her videos! She told some pretty funny stories, which were fun to hear! Her outfit was also so adorable and she looked so pretty! Her daughter wasn't there though, but I understand considering Louis was going to be busy with the get together.

Overall it was pretty awesome meeting SprinkleofGlitter and I still can't believe how lucky I got considering she lives in England!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Josephine Skriver

From playing soccer at HIK, the socccerclub she used to play for, to walking shows for Oscar de la Renta and Zac PosenJosephine Skriver is a half German, half Danish girl born on April 14, 1993 in Copenhagen, Denmark started modelling in Copenhagen in 2008 and is now a successful young model.

It all started when Josephine's lesbian mother has decided to place an ad for a sperm-donor. ''My mother placed an ad where she wrote that she looked for a man to have children with. My father answered, and that's how I came into the world,'' she told the Danish magazine, Cover.

Growing up she was a sporty-girl, she played soccer at HIK, a soccer club based in Copenhagen. She has also modelled as a baby for a local Danish packaging of Pampers.

Diane Von Furstenburg S/S '13 | Chanel Pre-Fall '14 (Métiers D'Art Dallas) | Giambattista Valli F/W '11 (Paris Haute Couture)
She went to New York City with her soccer-team and  was approached about her modeling potential, back in Denmark she told her family about it. After a while Friend of an aunt contacted Unique Models and soon she started modelling local. Two years later she debuted the F/W '11 international shows, she walked a total of 54 shows in Paris, Milan and New York.

Last year she also got to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time! Like her bestfriend and now roomie Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Josephine recently walked Chanel's Metiers d'Art 2013 show in Dallas and ended the year with walking in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time!

Now, she's the face of Armani Exchange and Tommy Hilfiger Denim's Spring/Summer 2014 campaigns and she's a regular for H&M and Victoria's Secret.

The Society Management
For awhile Josephine has been openly discussing about the fact that both her parents are members of the LGBT-Community. She and her little brother Oliver call themselves "Rainbow Kids". Her mother is a lesbian and her father is gay, her mother has decided to place an ad in a local lgbt-magazine looking for a donor, it's kind of funny, "my life started in a magazine and now all I do is appear in magazines." She told Buzzfeed tha Growing up in Denmark was easy as they're not judgemental at al. As a kid her mom gave her an advice -for life, I'd say, "you have to be really open about it, it's important not to hide who you are, because as soon as you are embarrassed about something people are going to mock you about that." That is why in school she never really got teased.

She also said that she was the one who dragged her parents to Gayprides, she was so proud of them. She wants other kids from gayparents to know that it's not that bad, because for instance "you're sure your parents love you, because they really, really wanted you in the first place. Gay people having a baby — it's never just, "Whoops!""

I'm pretty sure we'll see more of Josephine in 2014, looking forward to it!
